The site specific performance DIGGING DEEP reflects on layers of earth and it's hidden histories. Equipped with shovels, the audience is led on a journey through a field, to unearth secrets, dig out spells and dine in the archive of soil. A singing onion, a dancing coat and a talking bone await visitors with surprises. Andrea Gunnlaugsdóttir, Claudia Lomoschitz and Crystal Wall share stories from the depth of the ground to imagine feminist futures through polyphonic songs.

DIGGING DEEP contradicts extractivist, patriarchal, colonial and capitalist views of earth as a mere resource. The performance understands soil as vibrant matter, constituted by various organisms throughout time. How can we find the sensitivity to listen to the voices of microorganisms and roots communicating within the soil? Who does the ground belong to? Who is digging in the earth? And what does the ground reveal about ourselves?
