YouRban-Future Workshop: The Plastic Cycle – for Young Discoverers

Go on a playful journey through the world of materials and discover how exciting new products are made out of old parts from wind turbines—ranging from sports goods to furniture items. Here technical know-how and economic considerations come into contact with practical experiments and ideas. The participants discover how objects can be reconceived and recreated to reduce waste. The workshop combines curiosity and creativity with a critical look at the principles of the recycling economy. It is a space to examine things up close and discover the hidden potential of materials we otherwise throw away.

A cooperation between designaustria, Institute of Design Research Vienna (IDRV), and Politecnico di Milano in the YouRban project.
