Solutions & Strategies – Eröffnung der Ausstellung

Some eighty art students from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Applied Arts have created artworks addressing the climate crisis, specifically for the Klima Biennale Wien and for the week-long exhibition at the Badeschiff.

18:00 The anchor is weighed, the boilers are fired up and the Badeschiff sets sail (at least symbolically), followed by performances on deck, by the pool and in the Trinkhalle.

In the performance Noah’s Ark, Lukas Matzke and Jan Hadler demonstrate what growing up together feels like in a world that is not particularly lovable. The two friends explore an uncertain future in melancholic soundscapes and recall the warnings of religious traditions, which constantly remind us: we cannot claim that we were not warned. Through interplay, friction, and reaction, a sphere emerges that is meant to serve as a resonant space for a moment of concentrated calm—a moment from which new possibilities arise. Shared dreaming.
